The Best of Both Worlds!

Great food, friendly people, fair prices! Service was quick and friendly. Food was served hot and tasty, All in a unique and comfortable setting. Prices are reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience”
“Great BBQ and great seafood combo place. The steamed clams are the best. They are sand dug clams not hand picked mud clams so they are white shelled and grit free. The ribs are always tasty and cooked just right. Crab & artichoke dip is pretty good as well. Good selection of microbrews and wine if you prefer. Prices are very reasonable and staff is very friendly and accommodating. The single bathroom could be an issue when busy and it does need some updating.”
“After reading reviews on different lobster pounds in the Trenton/Ellsworth area, we decided to try this one and we are glad we did. We were greeted right away by a friendly server, told to take our own menus and choose a table. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We chose outdoor because it was a beautiful evening. Our server was great, very friendly and took great care of us. (I think her name was Sam). We have been reading about lobster rolls and wanted to try them. We ended up getting the Classic Maine lobster rolls (fresh lobster mixed with some mayo served on buttered brioche roll). They also serve a naked lobster roll that has no mayo, but just lobster with melted butter on same roll. We really enjoyed the classic lobster roll, which was overflowing with chunks of sweet lobster. They have a lot to choose from on menu, local beers also. Blueberry lemonade was delicious, too.”
“I can’t say enough great things about the Lobster Pound and Real Pit BBQ! One of the most unique and delicious spots to eat, this restaurant has it all. The seafood is great, but with the added BBQ it makes eating there something that everyone will enjoy. My all time favorite is the pickles! I’m not sure how they make them, but they are homemade and out of this world. I’ve never had anything like them. I enjoyed them with the hamburgers, which were the best ones I’ve had! If you’re like us, we stop here every year are not disappointed in the food or atmosphere. Everyone is welcoming and nice. The service is also good and very helpful with the daily specials. I’m not sure why anyone would give this place a bad review….unless they are the competition! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!”
“The staff was amazing – made you feel right at home – And the food – we went back both nights we were in town . The starters were a meal – HUGE portions . We had seafood and BBQ . Being across the road we could watch all the hard work that was put into the amazing meals we enjoyed later – can’t wait to come visit you again …”
“After visiting Acadia National State Park I was starving! We eat the bbq ribs with fries, corn on & burger. It was good & cooked in a timely manner. Did not wait long at all.The service is great, they have outdoor sitting areas covered with table unbrellas. I must share their bathroom is located inside a shed. Super clean, spacious & I must say i was a bit skeptical, but it was one of a few public bathrooms, that I’ve used & thought.. this is soo cute!”
“Delicious BBQ and seafood in a very casual lobster pound setting. Nice beer selection and rustic indoor seating (we sat outside, per tradition). There are about a million lobster shacks on Mt. Desert Island to choose from, and I’m sure they’re all pretty good, but this one stands out because it’s so kitschy and shacky. Nothing at all fancy here, just good food in a traditional lobster pound environment. I had BBQ – brisket and ribs – and my partner had chowder and a lobster roll, and we ate off each others plates. I recommend this approach because you’re not going to want to miss either the lobster or the BBQ.”
